Polk County Builders Association Government Affairs

Carlton Hodges_GA
"The Government Affairs Committee is a very important part of the PCBA and the vehicle that each of our members can use to assist in solving the many problems that continue to pop up in our industry. The benefits you can derive from this Committee can far exceed the value of your annual dues".    Carlton Hodges

We encourage you to attend as many meetings as time will allow. Your presence is necessary in order for PCBA to continue to play a vital role in County and City Government. If there is a specific issue or agenda item you would like to see addressed at one of the meetings please contact Stephanie Hutton.

PCBA Position Statement Regarding School Impact Fees
The Polk County Builders Association (PCBA) supports a fair and reasonable school impact fee that meets 100% of our local obligation to pay for additional facilities needed to accommodate new growth. However, we oppose paying an impact fee for the class size amendment required capital facilities. These costs are the sole responsibility of the state and not of local school districts as stated in Article IX, Section 1, of the Florida Constitution, and amended by the voters of Florida in November, 2002.
