Executive Officer Erica Garza, President Stephen Miller, and Board Officers Abigail Tidwell, Rodney Carter, Tiffany Sealscott, and Angela Walden attended the FHBA Spring Legislative Conference in Tallahassee.

During the conference, they met with local legislators as well as representatives from surrounding areas to advocate for issues impacting the building industry. These meetings provided an important opportunity not only to discuss key priorities, but also to strengthen relationships that support future efforts and ongoing collaboration.

President Stephen Miller spoke on behalf of our association at the Community Affairs hearing regarding SB 698/HB 589, addressing septic tank delays and their impact on housing timelines and development.

FHBA and PCBA are committed to supporting legislation that strengthens Florida’s building industry and economic environment while opposing measures that hinder responsible growth and progress.

• SB 1234 / HB 803 – Building Permits & Inspections

• SB 698 / HB 589 – Onsite Sewage Treatment and Disposal System (OSTDS) Permits

• SB 548 / HB 1139 – Growth Management

• Supporting the transfer of the State’s Onsite Sewage Treatment and Disposal System (OSTDS)

• Opposing contractor criminalization

• Protecting Sadowski Housing Trust Fund resources
